The laboratory was founded in 2011 on the basis of Polymer adhesives group. The laboratory is focused on the development of new formulations for pressure-sensitive adhesives and products, heterophase systems and polymer composites. Areas of activity of the laboratory include:

Basic research

  1. Investigation of the factors governing the formation and failure of the adhesive joints. Study of the relationships between viscoelastic and adhesive behavior of polymer systems;
  2. Development of new formulations of pressure-sensitive adhesives with enhanced properties;
  3. Modification of thermoset matrices to improve their toughness, modulus, thermal stability etc.
  4. Study of the disperse systems based on bitumens, asphaltenes, cellulose and development of functional materials on their base.

Applied research

Development of adhesive compositions of various types, including conventional adhesives, hot-melts, pressure-sensitive adhesives etc., tailored to a specific application. Development of multicomponent adhesive formulations for technical, cosmetic and medical purposes, including wound dressings, controlled drug delivery systems.
