DB Gas separation parameters of glassy polymers

The search for polymer materials to solve various problems of gas separation is an important direction in the development of membrane technology, or membrane materials science. For this purpose, it is necessary to have a Database in which the accumulated experience on the gas separation characteristics of membrane materials would be summarized.

In 1998, TIPS RAS collected open information on such important characteristics of polymers as gas transport and sorption parameters. On this basis, the "Gas separation parameters of glassy polymers" Database was created and registered (Informregister of the Russian Federation, 1998, No. 3585). With the help of the Database, various algorithms for predicting the gas transport characteristics of glassy polymers were implemented (see the list of references).

Currently, the "Gas separation parameters of glassy polymers" Database contains information for about 1100 amorphous glassy polymers of various chemical structures and for 26 gases. The database contains about 600 references and 7700 records. Such parameters as gases permeability, diffusion, solubility coefficients, activation energies of permeation and diffusion, density and glass transition temperature of polymers are tabulated.

The Database is regularly updated.
Currently, work on a new Database interface is ongoing.
